The farm house in Holcomb, KS where in 1959 Herbert Clutter a wheat farmer, his wife and two of their children were found murdered. They were in their home shot to death by two ex-convicts out on parole. The killers falsely heard in prison the farmer kept large amounts of cash. The killers entered the home during the night through an unlocked door. They bound and gagged the family while they looked for cash. Mr. Clutter had no cash on him and did all of his business with checks. The killers decided to murder the family and leave no witnesses. They were both captured 15 days later in Las Vegas, NV and both found guilty of murder. They were then executed by hanging five years later in the Kansas State Penitentiary.

Kansas law states that a death at the property, no matter how it occurred, is not classified as a material defect, therefore is not required to be disclosed to the buyer.

On Oct. 5, 2006, Zack Bowen murdered his girlfriend Addie Hall, then dismembered and cooked her body parts in the apartment oven above the Voodoo Spiritual Temple located on N. Rampart St.in the French Quarter of New Orleans, LA.  A few days later he committed suicide by jumping off of the Omni Hotel. In his pocket, police found a note confessing to the murder.

Louisiana law does not consider any death in the home to be "material fact"; therefore it is not required to be disclosed and no legal action shall be brought against the seller and agent for failing to disclose.

On October 16, 1933, 21-year-old Victor Licata used an axe to murder his parents, two brothers, and a sister while they were asleep. All died from blows to the head. The next morning police discovered a confused Licata in a bedroom of the family home.

Kurt Schleicher, the current homeowner, said he didn't know anything about the murders when he bought the property.

Florida does not consider a prior death in the home, even when the cause of death is homicide or suicide, to be a material fact that must be disclosed. Additionally, No legal action shall be taken against an owner or his agent for failing to disclose.
