Moss Family Mansion - Is it a Haunted Mansion?

914 Division St, Billings, Montana

The Moss Family mansion was built in 1903 by Preston Boyd Moss and his wife, Martha Ursula Woodson Moss, (Mattie). They lived there with their six children and three servants.

Martha themed each room in the mansion. These themes have been preserved and in some cases recreated to preserve the authenticity of the home.

Preston and Martha's daughter Melville took over the house after they passed away. Melville insisted that the home stay in the family. She died in the house in 1984 at the age of 88.

The Mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is now owned by the city of Billings and the state of Montana.

You can view the residence during self-guided tours or one-hour guided tours of the lower three floors.

People have claimed to her a female voice singing in the Billiards Room. Also some claimed to have seen shadows and experiencing a cool wind to wraps around them.

In Montana the sellers agent is obligated to disclose any adverse material facts that concern the property. An adverse material fact is defined as a fact that should be recognized by a broker or salesperson as being of enough significance as to affect a persons decision to enter into a contact to buy or sell real property and may be a fact that materially affects the value, affects the structural integrity, or presents a documented health risk. Death is not specifically defined as a material fact, but it can affect the value, so sellers should play on the side of caution and disclose.
